Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What QR code types are supported?
8 types are supported: website (URL), plain text, Wi-Fi, contact card (vCard), email, phone number, SMS, and social media links (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn). Choose the type you need and fill in the form, which adjusts automatically.
Do generated QR codes expire or stop working on their own?
They never expire, because QR codes generated by this tool store the data directly inside the pattern itself, without relying on any central server. They work forever, as long as whatever they point to (like a destination website) is still available.
If I add a logo in the center, will it still scan normally?
Yes, as long as you choose a high enough error correction level (Quartile or High recommended), because QR codes are designed to tolerate some amount of damage already. The logo is placed in the center at a proportion that avoids covering the critical parts of the pattern. But if the logo is too large or you choose a low level (Low), it may fail to scan from some angles — always test-scan it before using it for real.
How many export formats are there, and how do they differ?
Three formats are available — PNG, suited to general use on the web or in documents and supports a transparent background; JPG, a smaller file that does not support transparency, suited to email attachments or general printing; and SVG, a vector file that scales up or down without limit without getting blurry, suited to large-format printing or further editing in graphics software.
Which error correction level should I choose?
Low suits general use on an undamaged surface. Medium is the standard, well-balanced default. Quartile and High suit cases where the code might get dirty or have a logo placed over the center, since they tolerate more damage — at the cost of a more complex pattern.
Is my uploaded logo stored anywhere?
Your logo is never uploaded or saved anywhere. The logo file is only read and used in your browser's memory. If you refresh the page, the selected logo disappears and needs to be uploaded again.
How should I pick pattern and background colors so it scans reliably?
The pattern and background colors should have high enough contrast — for example, a dark pattern on a light background. Avoid colors that are too close to each other, because a phone camera may fail to read the pattern if the contrast is too low.
Is the data I enter sent to a server?
No data ever leaves your device. Generating every type of QR code runs entirely in your browser, including Wi-Fi credentials or contact details in a business card that may be sensitive.
